The publication began in 1999 as CNS News and featured a hybrid editorial mix of neurology and psychiatry information. Relaunched as American Psychiatry News in 2008, the psychiatry-only editorial is intended to provide practical clinical, practice management, legislative/policy and general information to its readers in an effort to enhance the treatment and management of psychiatric patients. Neurology remains a secondary focus as it relates to neurologic symptoms and comorbid illness as seen by practicing psychiatrists in the treatment of their patients.
